Careers on Wheels

Today was our annual Careers on Wheels at school. Student were able to discover and learn about some of the awesome jobs out there involving different types of machinery and vehicles. This tied in perfectly with our recent community helpers and transportation unit in ELA. We even had a very special visitor this year. Our very own classmate and friend, Emil, had his parents bring their HUMONGOUS crane to show everyone. Students were thrilled to learn more about this large machine and all of the jobs it can do. Shout out to Emil and his parents for participating in our fun-filled day! You can view the adorable pictures below.

FUN Friday

The students have been working hard in and out of the classroom to collect EAGLES. They have the opportunity to earn them each day during dismissal, during specials, at the end of each week, and walking in the hallway. They never know when they will be rewarded for their good behavior. Students need to collect 30 EAGLES a month to participate in our fun filled afternoon. Below you can take a look into the messy fun the students participated in while they were in my classroom. Students were also able to go to other teachers rooms to play hot potato, musical chairs, dance, and much more.

Fire Safety

To celebrate Fire Safety Month our students received a visit from our local fire department. Students were able to learn and interact with the firefighters. They learned the importance of not being fearful of a fire fighter in his/her heavy gear, how to STOP, DROP, and ROLL, what equipment the fire fighters use on the job, and to GET LOW and GO! It was a very exciting and educational day for the students. Hopefully they have shared some of their experiences and knowledge from the day. We also discussed fire safety during our community helpers unit in the classroom.

Happy Birthday!

We had a couple birthdays to celebrate in the month of September. Unfortunately, I was unable to capture pictures from each celebration, but you can view a few pictures from Hope's Birthday Celebration. Happy Birthday to all of our September birthdays: Hope, Ryder, and Braedon!

Letter Detectives

Who knew learning could be so much fun!? Take a look below to get a glimpse of some of the fun we experience on a daily basis. Our little detectives took learning their letters to the next level. They had to use their magnify glasses to help them hunt down items on their papers that started with the letters Cc and Aa. They are great detectives!

Rocking In Our New School

If you have read any of the beloved Pete The Cat books, you will know how catchy and fun they can be. We read Pete's, "Rocking In My School Shoes", before taking off on a fun adventure around the school. "Pete" left us clues all over the school to help us get better aquatinted with our new learning environment. It was a fun way to start off our first week of kindergarten as a class. Weeks later, we still have students asking and looking for Pete The Cat. Here's to a very GROOOOOOOVY year in kindergarten!
